OK, well, I know organization isn't really decorating, now is
it? But, let's face it, what good is all the effort to create a
nice home when it's hidden behind the mess and the clutter? So
in order to help us all prevail over the chaos, here are some
great hints for putting everything in its place! (On a budget,
of course!) The number one way to reduce clutter and mess? Deal
with things as they occur, don't save it for later! File the

But later even artificial fishing lures were used. Artificial baits could be reused each time. These antique fishing lures have become popular have become popular collectible items over the years. "It Can Happen to You" by: Joyce Moseley Pierce
You see it every day on the news. You get up and turn the tv on
in the morning and learn that while you were sleeping, others
were involved in accidents that caused their death. As one
friend put it, "You watch the news and think that somehow your
family is protected from these tragedies. After all, these
people don't live in your neighborhood. They come from a
different social class. They were in the wrong place at the
wrong time." It wasn't ...

Moms: 5 Steps to Organize Kids' Toys
1. Separate all your kids' toys into categories. Building
blocks, tools, dolls, reading materials, action figures, and
cooking items are all toy categories.
2. Make a list of your categories. List in the broadest possible
terms. For example, you'll likely keep Barbie dolls and
accessories together.
3. Decide on the best container (box, basket, bin) to hold each
category. Clear, plastic storage boxes are the best choice for
most toys. Consider a rolling cart ...

Everyone enjoys a night out. Days are filled with commitments,

When you dine out, you can't leave your good sense or your

I can really see Corbin's sense of humor emerging when he sees

laugh.
He'll purposefully knock over his glass of milk and say,
"Uh-oh," while signing "milk." He also loves to put things on

Imagine this: You come to pick up your baby from her day-care
after a long day at work or after a quick run to the store.
Expecting to find a delighted baby, you're greeted by your

this mean?" the babysitter asks, rotating her fists. You
unhappily realize that your baby has been trying to ask for a
changed diaper for the last hour and her caregiver didn't
understand the sign she was using.

help your baby become familiar with the sign and she will be

How Long Will It Take To Sell Your Home? I am often asked how
long it will take to sell a home in today's market. Many parts
of the country are generally enjoying a seller's market and have
been for several years.
Apart from the obvious factors (e.g., homes in very high price
ranges have fewer buyers than $300,000 homes), a word about
economic reality is in order. We have all been taught that the
real equation in real estate is "location, location, location."
This is utterly false. People ...

The tips listed below will help you to get back to you ideal

healthy eating and regular exercise. It is important you stay

Seven Steps to A Sucessful Future
Being successful in life is difficult unless you ensure you have
a balanced life. To obtain the optimal benefits you must be
passionate about your life plan and believe 100% in what you are
doing. It is important to have an end goal firmly in your mind,
a plan in place to reach the goal and steps in place to follow,
which will lead to your goal. It is also imperative to maintain
your physical health in the best shape possible. If you do not

Typically a small space consisting of just a sink and toilet,
you most likely know them by a more common term 'half-bath' or

It's derived from Victorian times, when women needed to 'powder
their noses'. Why consider them a jewel when it comes to
decorating, also why bother decorating them, it is after all
only a bathroom. A bathroom is a room in your home, in fact
depending on the number of baths you have it can become a ...

With this relationship being so vital, protection of the family

The best time to wean your baby onto solid food is at about age
6 months. This is because your baby's mouth will start to change
around that time to help her cope with the transition. Another
guide is to start when baby doubles in weight.
Before then your baby's digestive system and kidneys are able to
cope only with breastmilk and formula. But don't leave it too
late as baby may find it difficult to adapt to swallowing food,

is not the leisurely pursuit it once was. And bargain shopping,
by its very nature, is a stressful experience. Take bedding for
example. Bedding, and linens, includes everything from sheets

If your child loves all different types of animals, a jungle
mural is a great way to make their room a fun and enjoyable
place. You might be thinking how you will be able to achieve
such a task, especially if you do not have artistic talents.
The truth is, however, that this type of mural is rather easy to
construct as long as you have the tools to do it.
The easiest way to create a jungle mural is to transfer a
desired jungle scene, animal or image to transparency film, and

Every kid birthday party is different.
Indoors, outdoors, five guests, fifty-five guests, boys, girls,
Army theme, Princess Theme. But one thing's for sure - at some
point they'll be playing birthday GAMES. Now, I'll decorate,
I'll bake, I'll wrap all the gifts and hand-deliver all the
invitations. Heck, I'll even clean up after everyone leaves.

h3>The dawn of the DNA test
Back in the 1700s, the best way to determine paternity was by a
good hard look and the child, followed by a good hard look at
the father. Enough coincidences and maybe a relationship could
be proposed. A hundred years later, eye color was discovered to
be a paternity identifier. This theory has had its flaws exposed
because of recent DNA advances. We now know that eye color is
determined by at least six alleles, or genetic markers.
Paternity testing has become a lot ...

b>Baby Signing..
Around 20 years ago, two American doctors discovered baby
signing and many thousands of mothers are glad they did!
There are many reasons why babies cry. You could no doubt come

on the list if it's there at all.
Baby can't talk yet but wants to tell you how she is feeling:
hungry, tired, sad, my nappy needs changing (although you can
probably smell that!) or whatever; but she can't. It's enough to
make anyone want ...

The history of names is so ancient that no one know quite where
it began. Oral and written history both profess people having
names. Earlier names seem to have some sort of meaning, usually
descriptive. In contrast, today's names are usually given based
upon their popularity or pleasing sounds. Early in prehistory,
descriptive names were used continuously. Eventually, a
collection of names were formed that identified that particular
culture. Today, the meanings of many names are not known, due ...

b>Why We Celebrate Valentine's Day..
The oldest Valentine card still in existence was sent in 1415 by
Charles Duke of Orleans, at the time a prisoner in the Tower of
London, to his wife. The Valentine's card is now preserved and
displayed in the British Museum. However, the origins of
Valentine's Day lie in ancient Rome. Over the years the ever
expanding Roman empire became more difficult to police and there
was an increasing shortage of soldiers. Believing that married
men were too attached to ...

b>The Origins Of Mother's Day.. Today Mother's Day or
Mothering Sunday is celebrated all over the world. For florists
and card shops the event is one of the highlights of the year,
but the roots of Mother's Day are not commercial. Motherhood has
been celebrated since ancient times. The ancient Greeks paid
homage to Rhea, the Mother of Gods; and there are records of the
ancient Romans worshiping a mother Goddess known as Cybele as
early as 260 BC. Festivals took place in the spring which was

It's time to replace that old car. Your repair bills are
starting to add up to more than the payment would be. But how do
you know for sure if you can afford another vehicle?
People ask themselves this question regularly, and not just
about cars. Unless you have control of your finances there is no
way to tell. You have to know how much your income is and how
much your bills and expenses are to find out if you have enough
left over for any purchase.
The only way to accomplish this is to have a ...

If you are worrying about your money problems it's time to STOP
IT NOW! Easier said than done, huh.
In my 25 to 30 years working with personal money management
problems I have never seen worry help solve the problem. In fact
it has just the opposite effect.
Worry clouds your judgment. You have certain actions that you
need to take to get your problems solved and you will need a
clear head to make the necessary decisions.
In some cases the worry leads to desperation and is used as an

Author's Note: This article is one lesson from the free email

There are several factors that contribute to budgets failing.
The most common is that people just don't want to change the way
they live and how they handle their money.
We get comfortable with the way we live and making a major
lifestyle change is something that scares most of us. But, my
friend, this is probably what it will take to get your finances

Above all else, the furniture in the living-room should make it
livable. It should be grouped so that it offers centers of
interest, convenience and comfort. Look for upholstered seating
with homespun-type fabric, or toss a pieced quilt over plain
fabric or leather. An old rocker is a great addition.
By the time you are ready to choose the furniture for the living
room, the walls and floor coverings should be in place so that
the choice of furniture will be merely the selection of the best

One of the biggest hassles of moving to a new apartment is
packing, and unpacking-- your belongings. While it's tempting to
just throw everything in any box, packing isn't that
straight-forward. Breakables and odd-sized items need to be

items that are housed in various rooms need to travel together.
One terrific way to make packing and unpacking much easier (and

When you sign a lease committing yourself to a unit in an
apartment complex or building, you're agreeing to live in close
quarters with strangers. You're also making the assumption that
your building will be properly managed and maintained. That
includes such factors as air quality and adequate pest control.
As a tenant, you have rights, of course, but some of the most
serious threats to your health -- such as carbon monoxide -- are
ones you can't even see or smell.
Particularly scary is the ...

Most landlords consider it routine to re-key the locks before
renting an apartment to a new tenant. However, this isn't always
the case. Maybe the landlord insists that all the keys to the
apartment were turned in... but how can you be sure?
I heard a humorous story about a man (we'll call him Bob) who
lived in a complex which didn't re-key the locks. Bob had lived
in the same apartment for several years, and while he was there,
he made a copy of the key for his friend (we'll call him Joe).
Bob ...

Your heart starts pounding... breathing becomes labored, and
your head starts to ache. You wipe the sweat from your forehead

According to Diane L. Silva, an attorney at law in California,
"The purpose of filing an eviction action, an "unlawful
detainer," is to obtain possession of the premises. The landlord
may also obtain a judgment for rent owed, court costs and
attorney's fees (sometimes). The award of rent in the action is
considered to be incidental to the primary purpose--the recovery
of the premises."
The process is difficult, and in order to clarify these things,
Lane County Legal Aid Services put together ...

Curious about what exactly your landlord is responsible for?
Here's a list of things your landlord can and cannot do.
According to law, you landlord must...
(a) make sure that your house or apartment complies with all
building, housing and health codes that significantly affect
your health and safety. If you feel your landlord is not
following the building, housing or health codes, you should
contact your local tenant's union.

Thanks to home offices, computer/game rooms and improved
entertainment centers, Americans are spending more and more time
enveloped in home activities. While having access to all that we
need under our own roof is convenient, it can also be noisy.
If you live in an apartment or condominium community, you share
most of your walls with neighbors. Because of this, you should
be extra careful about the amount of noise you make. If

prefer to rent to professionals first.
A contributing factor to the tight market is the sale of
condominiums as a primary residence rather than a rental unit.
During the early 90's many condominiums were converted into
rentals because the owner could not sell it. Today with a
recovering economy and the low crime rate in ...

SHARED RESIDENCE AGREEMENTS
A roommate agreement is made by two or more people who are
sharing living expenses. All roommates should have a clear
understanding about their individual responsibilities for rent
and other living expenses. Without a written agreement problems
are more likely to arise. Few things could be more uncomfortable
than sharing a house with someone with whom you have an ongoing
disagreement about financial matters. It is always best to have
such understandings in a written ...

One of the more daunting aspects of survival at a residential
school is dealing with your roommate. Not that it's particularly
difficult, but it often looms over the impending school year. We
want to make sure you're armed with the tools and techniques to
effectively communicate and get along with your roommate.
The prelims: getting to know your roommate. You should always
break the ice--it's hard, sometimes, but after you do, you'll be
glad you did!
Start with some easy questions like:

This story could constitute a practical joke or a revenge. My
junior year in college myself and three friends had a house and
since we went to a relatively small school it became somewhat of
the party house. For one of my roommates 21st birthday a friend
of ours gave him a handle of the cheapest whiskey (it came in a
plastic bottle and the dude that gave it to us had an entire
case of these handles!) I have ever run across.
A few weeks later we had thrown a small gathering and had people

If you have decided to live with someone else, the most
important thing to do is to take a good look at yourself as a
potential roommate. Set aside at least an hour of your time to
sit down with a piece of paper and a pencil and do some serious
introspection. Don't skip this part, it's really valuable.
List Your Assets.
Start with the good stuff and give yourself a pat on the back.
Make a list of all of the "pluses" you will bring to a roommate
relationship. Here are a few examples, but take ...

Let's call her Cathy Brown. I met her while teaching an acting

When you move into an apartment, you and your landlord have to
have a lot of blind faith for each other. You could be "Mr. Nice
Guy", or "Mr. I'm Going To Throw Parties Here Every Night Guy."
Tenants are usually not into maintenance, therefore they aren't
as careful with their rented property as they would be if they
owned it. They also tend to see maintenance as the landlord's
job. So, in order to assure the landlord that any damages made
to the apartment while you are a tenant will be ...

QUESTION:
I feel that I am being wrongly evicted from our apartment by
another roommate who claims to be the only one on the lease. I'm
pretty sure I signed it, too, but I can't remember.
ANSWER:
The first thing to do is to get a copy of that lease. Start with
the landlord, who probably has a copy (and state law may require
him to give you a copy if you request it). If you're on the
lease, your roommate cannot get you out -- only landlords can

If you are moving into an apartment you may want to consider
investing in insurance. Along with the first month's rent,
chances are you will be asked to pay a security deposit. This is
a type of insurance for your landlord. The landlord can use this
deposit to pay for any damages caused during your residency. For
you, security comes in the form of renter's insurance.
Most renters use the homeowner's form of insurance known as the

The Lease
As a general rule, all adults living in an apartment should be
named on the lease and should be co-responsible for payment of
rent and maintenance of the unit. This means that each of you is
responsible for making sure the entire rent is paid each month

for damages, etc.) are everyone's concern. This also means that
you are all protected under the terms of the lease.

affectionate as that sounds I knew what she really meant was
that I had bad breath. Being somewhat shy in the first place,
this only compounded my lack of confidence and made me totally
aware of my breath problem from that day on.
Rarely was there a date from then on that I didn't have a supply
of mints, gum, or some other type of breath altering products
available to me. ...

The Chinese Year of the Rooster
The Chinese Year of the Rooster starts on February 9 and lasts
until January 28 2006. There's a table below telling you the
dates of other Chinese astrology signs.
There are twelve Chinese year signs in the Chinese Zodiac.
Unlike in our western astrology, in Chinese astrology each sign
lasts for a year. Legend has it that as Buddha was about to
depart the earth he summoned all the animals to say goodbye.
Only twelve turned up so, to show his appreciation of ...

The Burial Vault is an Important Part of Funeral Pre-Planning.
You hear a lot about caskets also called 'coffins' and about how
much protection they provide your loved one after burial. You
never really stop to think about what actually is the most
important part of the burial ' the burial vault or grave liner.
Consider this. The casket is generally made out of wood, steel,
fiberglass or plastic and in most cases the only protection
against rust or water penetration is found in the gasket ...

b>Why We Celebrate Valentine's Day.. The oldest Valentine
card still in existence was sent in 1415 by Charles Duke of
Orleans, at the time a prisoner in the Tower of London, to his
wife. The Valentine's card is now preserved and displayed in the
British Museum. However, the origins of Valentine's Day lie in
ancient Rome. Over the years the ever expanding Roman empire
became more difficult to police and there was an increasing
shortage of soldiers. Believing that married men were too

PARENTS can teach their children 'money' lessons as soon as they

At this rate, it will take just 14,750 years for clumsiness and

Parents become exhausted and easily stressed. Children feel out
of control, oftentimes exhibiting unacceptable social behavior
without any real consequences. As parents we owe it to our

The declining moral standards of society, fuelled in some large
part by the television media and mainstream movie industry, has
been much bemoaned by parental groups, religious organisations
and other guardians of our collective morality but without an

are around for what seems like forever. Those in the warmer
climates can only dream about snow, snowpeople, and carrot

when their parents separate each other, and subsequently they
become homeless children. They do not have good opportunities to
find a job due to shortage of education. Consequently, crime ...

Clocks have been around for a very long time. They vary from the
simpliest in design to one that is ornate and multi-functional.
Colors abound and features are hand-set, digital, computerized
and little bit of everything in between. Whether you live in a
one room apartment or a mansion with twelve bedrooms and servant
quarters, clocks can be a very definite decorating strategy.
They add color, motif, and a very basic function - to know what
time it is whenever you want to know.
In the kitchen, ...

along the lines of 'I don't have enough assets to worry about',
'I don't know how to write a will', or 'Lawyers charge a lot of
money'. Here's my answer to the last two ' buy a software

The subject of stay-at-home parenting is touchy, and emotionally
tangled up in a maelstrom of emotion, advertising, society
pressure, culture demands, and personal beliefs. When you have a
mixture of that many ingredients swirling around, the result is
likely to be a mess unless both parents are in agreement. One

Shoppers spent more than $15.5 billion this Christmas on gifts
on the Internet alone. Just imagine how many millions went to
unwanted polka dot sweaters, electric nose hair clippers, and
thigh masters. That wasted cash piled up under the Christmas

and immediately, you had to put on your best poker face.

Summer is right around the corner and most of us have our
to-do-lists figured out, mentally, if not written down yet.
Bible camp for the kids, plant a large garden, and a trip to the
lake. What about financial housekeeping, shouldn't that be on
your list too? Early summer is a great time to take a financial
breather. The holidays are a long way off, the taxes have just
been paid and we're spending time eating in the backyard instead
of dining out. If you take even one day out of your ...
